I wanted to thank all the participants and attendees, from here, their time, energy and enthusiasm.
Who shared with us the spirit of Vilustrado, understanding this event, not as a business but as a meeting and participation place where the public money, the City Council, is invested in the professionals attendees, in the free access to the talks, and the creation, through a contest, of a grant for 10 people to attend free to the event and stay, and, most importantly, leading illustration to schools, involving the city.
To all thank you very much!

I have spent, two months of my silence, in Valladolid, practically a second home to me, thanks to the great people I met there in recent years. This time I have not only been working there in a book but, also participated in an exhibition and collaborated with Oscar del Amo in organizing an International Illustrators Meeting, of which I will tell later.

It has been an exciting weekend and very smokey!
On Friday we were glazing our pieces to fire the next day.

I promise to take some pictures of my stuff when I have stopped to look and touch them. I can't stop!

I love ateliers! of all kinds! (perhaps ,because I don't have one!).
I like the smell and the tools. I always wonder who is the person who thought of creating a particular tool, used for a particular purpose and what was the process that led to it.
Last year I took a workshop in ceramic, so the surroundings were not entirely unknown. Especially I liked to create all objects without wheel, sitting quietly, calmly modeling and accepting the result, although it was not perfect nor was I had in mind.
In two weeks we glazed and to the kiln...how exciting!
Way home on my bike humming this song. :)

It was a pleasure to share doubts, challenges and laughter with friends I have not often get to see and reconnect with old and new faces.
During the weekend the Weekend Seminars took place where we could enjoy the ideas and inspirations of Kitty Crowther, Marc Boutavant, Puño, Chris Haughton, Oliver Jeffers, Axel Scheffler and David Wiesner among others.
I want to thank the organizers, I con i, for his invitation to participate in these Seminars. Many thanks to everybody who came, for your interest, enthusiasm and participation. And thanks for your messages and emails, I am overwhelmed by your kindness.
It was a great week!

Learning

But that's understandable when you are working with new materials that behave in a manner quite different from how you're used to. And the process is twice complicated because you have to create the pieces, to think about what you want to create from a small mountain of clay, using your hands and water, the pottery wheel speed and above all, patience.
Ah! I think patience is the key ingredient when working with clay.
I've not been able to decide which process interests me more, to create the piece or painting it. I hope the next round is more like what I have in mind.
How fun is to learn something new!
**************************
