Sammlung Boros

I recently went to visit the Boros Collection, a private art collection housed in a bunker located in the area of Mitte.
It's a "Hochbunker", a peculiarly German type of construction, buildings that were built exclusively to protect people from bombings and unlike other such shelters (like those underground) they were indeed considered completely bomb-proof.
This one stills here because their demolition was very expensive and involved damage to adjacent buildings.
Not only it's an interesting collection of art but the building itself. Built in 1942 it was occupied by the Soviets in 1945, during the GDR was called the "Bananabunker" as they used to store fruit. During the 90's became a techno club ending in 2003 to be acquired by the Boros family to house his private art collection.
There have been some alterations inside the building, as removing some ceilings to give more height to the rooms (ceilings are usually of 2.20 mts) and the owners superloft at the top of the building.

Recientemente fui a visitar la Colección Boros, una colección de arte privada que tiene su sede en un bunker situado la zona de Mitte.
Este es un "Hochbunker", edificios que se construían exclusivamente para resguardar a la gente de los bombardeos y al contrario que otros refugios de este tipo (como aquellos bajo tierra) estos se consideraban resistentes a las bombas. Es una construcción que se hacía sólo en Alemania. Este sigue aquí porque su demolición era muy costosa y suponía dañar a los edificios colindantes.
No sólo es interesante la colección de arte sino el edificio en sí. Construído en 1942 fue ocupado por los soviets en el 45, durante la RDA se le llamaba el "Bananabunker" ya que servía para almacenar fruta. Durante los 90 se convirtió en un techno club acabando en el 2003 por ser adquirido por la familia Boros que ha hecho del lugar la sede de su colección privada de arte.
Ha habido algunas reformas en el edificio, como quitar algunos techos para dar mayor altura a las salas (ya que eran espacios de 2,20 de alto en su mayoría) y el superloft de los dueños en la parte superior del edificio.

Sunny weekend

This weekend looks more like summer than spring.

Este fin de semana parece más verano que primavera.

El árbol

This tree is in my backyard. He spends all the winter asleep, under rain and snow. When spring comes sprouts white flowers which drops as if it were snow. The whole yard is covered with white petals.
Probably, I'm not going to see him do his performance the next spring but it's nice to think that he will snow petals every year in this same place.
I don't even know his name (I mean what kind of tree it is) :) Anyone knows?

Este árbol está en mi patio trasero. Se pasa todo el invierno dormido, bajo lluvia y nieve. Cuando llega la primavera le brotan unas flores blancas que se dedica a dejar caer como si fuese nieve. Todo el patio está cubierto de pétalos blancos.
Probablemente, no voy a verle transformarse la próxima primavera pero es agradable pensar que él, año tras año, hará nevar pétalos en este mismo lugar.
Ni siquiera sé cómo se llama (me refiero a que tipo de ábol es) :) Alguien lo sabe?
